MILLYARDS 01 - BALANCE

MILLYARDS 01 - BALANCE

in this collection, three powerful graphics come together, deeply interwoven, and represent a journey of responsibility, strength, and lightness. The first graphic depicts Atlas, the Greek Titan, who carries the sky on his shoulders – a symbol of the immense burden and responsibility he must bear. Yet, in this portrayal, it becomes clear that even the greatest and strongest beings, like Atlas, need deep roots to carry their load. Roots here symbolize stability, support, and the avoidance of instability. They represent the inner strength necessary to face even the heaviest tasks.

The second graphic, which integrates the symbol of rootedness, furthers this idea: it suggests that in order to bear responsibility, a deep connection to the earth – and to one’s own roots – is essential. This rootedness provides the necessary support and stability to endure the challenges of life without breaking.

The third graphic, inspired by Henri Matisse's "The Dance", introduces the contrasting yet essential dynamic of lightness and movement. It depicts freedom, the joy of life, and the energy of dance – a wonderful complement to the heaviness and responsibility Atlas carries. It serves as a reminder that, despite all the burdens and responsibilities we bear, there is always space for movement, joy, and expression. This lightness stands as a counterpoint to the heaviness, symbolizing the importance of balance between these two forces: the stability of rootedness and the freedom of life.

Together, the collection tells the story of the balance between heaviness and lightness, between duty and joy, and shows how, through our inner roots and connections, we can both carry the responsibilities of life and still find room for freedom and growth.
